Over 33,000 runners took part in last year’s Great Ethiopian Run, an international 10km race. Throughout the year the NGO Great Ethiopian Run organise races across Ethiopia for men, women and children encouraging participation in sport and raising money for charities in Ethiopia.
ProExposure photographers Ashe, Betelhem, Yenenesh and Ashenafi have worked photo commissions at the Great Ethiopian Run for both local and international NGOs.

After an incredible 18 months of taking photographs of an A-Z of Ethiopia we’re very excited to announce ProExposure photographers Ashenafi, Betelhem, Yenenesh, Ataklti and Dama’s book ‘E is for Ethiopia’ (with the publishers Frances Lincoln) has gone in to production and will be launched in May 2010!
Ashenafi, as well as taking new photos, wrote the text for each letter of the alphabet and Sara translated the text from Amharic to English.
This week Marcella has been meeting face to face with CIPO about how we can work together in the future and making connections between Brazil and the UK.
CIPO is a non-profit organisation in Salvador, Bahia set up in 1999 to run photography and film projects with children and young people encouraging new skills and creative expression.

Today marks International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women but also highlighting issues women face around the world. In the UK it is estimated 30,000 women a year will lose their jobs as a result of becoming pregnant.
